Nestor Dubnevych, Legal Nodes
As soon as Web3 team plans to attract investments from a venture fund, sign agreements with contractors, or list a token on an exchange, it will likely start to receive questions on when and how a blockchain protocol has been incorporated. This is because incorporation is part of a “legal wrapper” for a blockchain protocol and without this legal wrapper, interaction between the on-chain protocol and the outside world can become complicated. In addition to this, a protocol without a legal wrapper poses some real risks to the team and protocol stakeholders. To discuss such legal challenges - we would like to suggest the following agenda: 1) on-chain and off-chain parts of Web3 products and their legal status; 2) DAO legal wrapper structuring; 3) token cap table preparation; 4) legal documents for fundraising in Web3 industry.

David Simmons, Dhali
Robbie Daniels, Dhali
Dhali is a Web 3.0 marketplace that revolutionises the way APIs are accessed, deployed, and monetised. It offers a seamless platform where developers can deploy their APIs, while users can connect their wallets to access the desired services. One of the key advantages of Dhali is its utilisation of efficient XRPL payment channels. These payment channels enable cost-effective off-ledger transactions, dramatically enhancing the overall efficiency of the Dhali platform to the benefit of all Dhali users. In addition, APIs on Dhali are tokenised using non-fungible tokens (NFTs). When an API is accessed and utilised, the owner of the corresponding NFT receives the earnings generated from its usage. By combining efficient off-ledger payment channels and NFT-based tokenisation, Dhali offers a secure, efficient, and transparent ecosystem for API deployment and monetisation.

The carbon credit SDK is an open source SDK built on top of the XRPL. While built specifically to meet the tokenization needs for Carbon Markets, It provides an API and sample code demonstrating how to mint Semi Fungible Tokens for any use case. This API and examples apply to both Real World assets that need an additional level of tracking and opens these assets to DeFi dApps by tokenizing them as easily tradable Fungible Tokens instead of NFTs.
The SDK API mints tokens and stores additional metadata in the trustline. This metadata both describes the token and allows individual token IDs to be assigned upon token burning, providing lifecycle tracking for individual tokens normally only available from NFTs. Since this is accomplished without NFTs we maintain the lower reserve costs and transactional flexibility of Fungible Tokens.
In addition to showcasing SFT functionality, the Carbon Markets SDK follows the Interwork Alliance Tokenization Framework. I will demonstrate how the SDK supports this framework and can be used to generate NFTs which represent Ecological Project information, assert on chain claims supporting the validity of the carbon credits, and track carbon credit tokens through their entire lifecycle.

Frontrunning, the act of exploiting transaction information to gain an unfair advantage in trading, is a pervasive issue in Automated Market Maker exchanges. Ethereum is plagued by frontrunning. Frontrunners capitalize on price movements by observing pending transactions and executing trades before them. This behaviour undermines the trust in decentralized platforms and hinders the adoption of DeFi. In this talk, we will explore how the new Automated Market Maker functionality proposed in the XLS-30d extension improves the resilience of XRP Ledger against frontrunning attacks. A key element of frontrunning is manipulating transaction execution order. XRPLs Canonical Order ensures that frontrunners cannot control transaction execution order. Moreover, the new AMM integrates with the existing Order Book exchange, making frontrunning more challenging.
